YG Entertainment's stock plummets as rumours about Lisa's mistreatment surface

YG Entertainment's stock plummeted after it was reported that BLACKPINK's Lisa would not attend Paris Fashion Week despite being in France. Lisa's fans took to social media, calling out YG Entertainment for giving Lisa unfair treatment. The fans have been trending "Justice for Lisa" and #YGLetLisadoHerWork on Twitter.

As a result, the company’s stock dipped 1.70% to 63,700 KRW (approximately Rp763,000) from 64,800 KRW (approximately Rp775,000) in a day.

Lisa's fandom has been dissatisfied with YG since the label announced Lisa’s solo debut. However, unlike other BLACKPINK members who have released their own single, YG did not promote Lisa’s solo debut properly.

The fans also pointed out that Lisa’s solo album could have been even more successful if YG put a little more attention and effort on it, yet YG only did the bare minimum. Lisa also once confessed that the future of her solo activities had been uncertain, which adds fuel to the fire.

Not long after, to pacify the fans, YG Entertainment suddenly announced that Lisa will attend Paris Fashion Week, which was confirmed as the Thai-born star left for Paris on 4 October.

Upon arrival, Lisa was reunited with her mother and fans expected her to attend some of the shows the next day. However, she was nowhere to be seen. Bvlgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin shared a post on his Instagram to clarify this issue.

“Our great ambassador @lalalalisa_m is in Europe. Unfortunately due to Covid her Agency prefers her not participating in events or shows. That’s also the reason why insofar we could not shoot her together with @zendaya, @lilyaldridge and @vittoria for the @bulgari Brand Campaign 2021/22 and that we could not run a major event yet together,” he stated in the caption.

At the time of writing this article, YG Entertainment has not made any official statement regarding this issue.
