According to the press release from One Up, there are 16 groups participating in the tournament. Set to run from 2 to 6 December, the tournament will be divided into three categories - challengers, masters and champions.

Founded in 2018, One Up is an Indonesia-based consultancy and event organiser for the gaming industry. The company in 2019 was awarded First Online Game Competition with Augmented Reality Technology from the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI).

In recent years, gaming industry in Indonesia has been growing exponentially. The largest pool of VALORANT players in Southeast Asia comes from Indonesia. The game in April garnered 1.7 million viewers on streaming platform Twitch. Gaming industry has one of the most loyal and engaging communities. It comes as no surprise that gaming tournament typically nets plenty of sponsors and high cash prize. Louis Vuitton, for instance, creates trophy case for the 2019 League of Legends World Championship.

Riot Games Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan Head of E-sport Riot Games Chris Tran said, “We are ready and excited to launch series of tournaments in 2021 for Riot Games fans, and we are pleased to partner up with One Up to bring these tournaments to Indonesian gamers.”
