The Body Shop unveiled campaign that supports the sexual violence bill

The Body Shop on Thursday, 5 November launched a campaign titled ‘Semua Peduli, Semua Terlindungi #TBSFightForSisterhood’ (Everyone Cares, Everyone Protected #TBSFightForSisterhood) on Zoom. The brand partners up with Yayasan Pulih, Magdalene, Makassar International Writers Festival to support the sexual violence bill or RUU PKS.

Actress Hannah Al-Rashid and comedian Bintang Emon were among the guests on the online event. The Body Shop Executive Chairwoman Suzy Hutomo said during the event, “Victims are distant from public eye because our social system indirectly punishes the victims of sexual assault.”

Through the campaign, the company is asking for donation at The Body Shop physical and online stores. It also aim to collect 500,000 signatures for its ‘Stop Sexual Violence’ petition on https://www.tbsfightforsisterhood.co.id/. The online petition will be up until March 2021.

“We will ask Indonesian youth to stop sexual violence through series of activities that involve many parties. We will also invite 500,000 people through petitions and educational material about sex education that is easy to digest for the public, and it can be accessed through #TBSFightForSisterhood,” said Suzy.
