Introducing Lea, the first-ever virtual influencer to be featured on Cosmopolitan
To celebrate its 24th anniversary, Cosmopolitan Indonesia will release a special edition issue titled “The Guide Book for Gen Z”. However, unlike before, the September-October issue will feature a virtual influencer named Lea on its cover.
We have noticed the rise of virtual influencers globally, but Lea is the first-ever Indonesian virtual influencer who became the cover model of Cosmopolitan magazine.
Lea is one of the three digital mascots who represent blu by BCA Digital. She is a financially-independent woman who is interested in lifestyle and fashion as well as social issues related to sustainability.
Currently, Lea is particularly concerned about the ongoing issue about textile waste, so she shared that as an influencer, she usually creates educational content for her followers, such as content about sustainable fashion tips and tricks. As a result, Cosmopolitan invited her to be featured in the magazine.
“Turns out, Cosmopolitan Indonesia has the same concern as me! They commented on my IG posts and invited me to come over to Cosmo's office to chat more,” she wrote on her blog.
At a meeting with Cosmopolitan, Lea explained the importance of financial literacy among young people. She also introduced blu, a digital bank by BCA that helps her manage her money. blu is currently holding a campaign titled #MulaiLangkahmu, which is aimed at encouraging young Indonesians to take little steps and reach their goals eventually.
“Now we can use various features provided by blu to manage, save and invest our money,” Lea said.
