The ministry appreciates this as one of the ways to promote local games to the global market by opening market access for creative economy players, especially the application or game sub-sector.

Tokyo Game Show, or TGS for short, is a video game convention held annually every September in Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan. Japanese games are usually the main focus of the expo, but international games began to catch up and showcase upcoming releases and hardwares. The expo in 2020 was not held due to the pandemic.
