Kotak’s former drummer Posan Tobing sues Warner Music Indonesia

Posan Tobing has in June 2020 filed a lawsuit against record label affiliate Warner Music Indonesia (WMI) regarding royalty payment issue.

Posan deemed that WMI did not provide appropriate royalty for the song he composed titled “Sayang” sung by Shae. The song was composed in 2006 and has achieved 10 platinum over the past 15 years. Through the lawsuit, Posan seeks Rp5 billion in royalty.

The lawsuit has reached the stage of examination. As reported by Kompas, the defendant has not been able to provide a detailed response considering it is still undergoing examinations at the Jakarta District Court.
