Louvre files lawsuit against Pornhub

The Louvre Museum is taking legal action against Pornhub’s latest app, Classic Nudes, which was released on 14 July. The Paris-based museum challenged the porn streaming service website for recreating classic paintings with adult film stars.

Classic Nudes is a recently released app by Pornhub that provides guidance in the world’s biggest museums, such as New York’s The MET, London’s National Gallery, Paris’s Musée d’Orsay and Madrid’s Museo del Prado. The guidance is provided for both live and interactive museum tours for erotic masterpieces, accompanied by audio commentaries by Asa Akira, a Japanese American adult actress and film director. In the first edition, there are also performance by My Sweet Apple troupe recreating some of the art pieces.

However, along with Louvre, Florence’s Uffizi also sued the company for including and recreating their collection on the platform. Uffizi also demanded the removal of the recreations of the works displayed by Classic Nudes in its galleries. A representative from Uffizi stated that there had not been any authorisation given by their side to be a part of Pornhub’s Classic Nudes.
