Glossier bags $80 million in Series E funding
Digital-native beauty company Glossier Inc. last week announced its success in raising $80 million in Series E funding. This round was led by Lone Pine Capital and participated by existing investors Forerunner Ventures, Index Ventures, IVP, Sequoia Capital and Thrive Capital.
Glossier is among the first in its industry to innovate beyond brick and mortar. Seven years after starting its business digitally, the company now has 5 million global customers and has become a household beauty brand that resonates across generations. Glossier has also expanded to offline stores, despite having to close all of them during the pandemic. However, its strong e-commerce base helped them continue growing through the global crisis.
Prior to this round, Glossier Inc. managed to raise even bigger funding in Series D, which totaled $100 million.
