Indonesia Menuju Broadway presents first hybrid Musical Theater Conservatory in Indonesia

IndonesiaKaya through its Ruang Kreatif programme presents Indonesia Menuju Broadway 2021. Unlike in 2019, coaching for this year’s Indonesia Menuju Broadway will be held virtually. However, Ruang Kreatif will present the very first Musical Theater Conservatory in a hybrid setup--offline and online.

Indonesia Menuju Broadway is intended for Indonesian young, talented artists. IndonesiaKaya partners with Passport to Broadway, New York for this event to provide Broadway-standard performing arts training for those talents. This event also opens opportunities for the participants to experience training in New York. This year, participants will attend intensive classes to hone their acting, vocal and dancing skills virtually for about one year. 

Indonesia Menuju Broadway 2021 will also present the first intensive Online and Offline Musical Theater Conservatory in Indonesia. This conservatory will use an adaptation of American conservatory schools’ syllabus and taught by local, experienced teachers.

Programme Manager of IndonesiaKaya Billy Gamaliel stated that this whole programme is subsidised by IndonesiaKaya. “Participants only need to pay a registration fee,” he said. Participants will be able to access exclusive online classes with the Passport to Broadway team: Amy Weinstein (master teacher, musical theatre performance/acting), Stephen Brotebeck (master teacher, musical theatre dance styles), as well as Seth Weinstein and Catherine Vaughn (master teacher, musicianship and vocal training).

Indonesian coaches taking part in the programme are Venytha Yoshiantini (director of Teater Musikal Nusantara/TEMAN), Putri Indam Kamila (La Salle College of Arts graduate and Indonesia Menuju Broadway 2019 alumni), Ufa Sofura (professional dancer and choreographer), Pasha Prakasa (professional dancer and choreographer), Ayu Gurnitha (professional dancer and Indonesia Menuju Broadway 2019 alumni), Dani Dumadi (music coach at Avip Priatna’s The Resonanz Music Studio) and Andrea Miranda (professional singer). 

Indonesia Menuju Broadway 2021 targets 100 participants aged 15-30 years. Participants can register at www.indonesiakaya.com until 30 September 2021. All candidates will be required to fill in a registration form and pay a registration fee of $250 or about Rp3.5 million.
