Warner Bros buys Indonesian animated kids’ series "The Beach Buds"
Indonesian animated children's series “The Beach Buds” was purchased by Warner Bros. to be broadcast in Latin America. However, the broadcast date for “The Beach Buds” has not been announced.
“The Beach Buds” had also announced a partnership with The Walt Disney Company to be broadcast in Japan, Disney+ Hotstar for Southeast Asia and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for Australia.
The viewing licence is held by Australia-based Odin's Eye Animation (OEA), a sister company of Odin's Eye Entertainment.
“We believe “The Beach Buds'' will captivate the hearts of children and families around the world. We are confident in OEA's ability and extensive experience to successfully distribute the series globally," said Iskander Tjahjadi, president and executive producer at the Indonesian production company behind the series, Studio JToon.
“We are very pleased with the success of this new franchise and Warner Bros. Discovery Latin America is the ideal partner,” said OEA CEO and founder Michael Favelle.
That is because the first season of "The Beach Buds" consists of 52 episodes of 11 minutes each. The series, which is aimed at children aged 6-11 years, is set on a tropical island called Zoobak Resort, featuring a variety of cute furry characters.
“The Beach Buds” is here to entertain children while teaching about harmony, friendliness and humour.
