What happened to celebrities’ tokens when crypto prices fell?
Cryptocurrencies were booming during the pandemic, in line with the rising popularity of non-fungible tokens (NFT). Back then, almost everyone was talking about crypto and NFT. However, the price of several cryptocurrencies, such as bitcoin, has fallen.
The enthusiasm over NFT in Indonesia is quite high. It has even motivated some celebrities to launch cryptocurrencies. For example, Anang Hermansyah's family launched Asix Token and the Lesti-Billar couple launched the Leslar Metaverse.
As we all know, crypto coins are used as a means of payment to buy NFT digital assets, such as digital image designs or even digital shoes.
Crypto has been around since 2009. At that time, there were already many cryptocurrencies in circulation, the most famous was bitcoin. However, after being on the rise, according to Katadata, bitcoin fell to its lowest level since 2020 on Saturday (18 June).
Until the end of 2021, Indonesian celebrities were getting more and more interested in this opportunity and launched their own cryptocurrencies, starting from the daughter of Ustadz Yusuf Mansur, Wirda Mansur with I-COIN, the Lesti-Billar couple with their Leslar Metaverse project and the Asix Family with their Asix Token.
If crypto prices continue to decline, what will happen to them?
